Success Stories

Thousands of entertainment industry members and their families have gone through the program.
Here is what some of them are saying:

Ed, IATSE, Local 44
Business Agent
Quit Day: February 8, 2005
Group Counseling

"I had been a smoker for as long as I could remember. Over the years I watched as others around me suffered through the terrible diseases brought on by this all controlling habit. Finally I asked myself which would be easier, quitting smoking or telling my children "Daddy is dying of Cancer," it was a simple choice to make. After trying every program available "Picture Quitting" came to the rescue. They are not miracle workers, there is no magic wand, you have to want to quit, and if you do, this is the program that can do it. Thank you "Picture Quitting" for giving me a new life."

Steve, Business Agent, Teamsters
New Quit Day: February 24, 2009
Individual Counseling

Steve was originally in the PQ program in 2005. He was smoke-free for a couple of years, then smoked occasionally, which led to going back to smoking. "There are plenty of pitfalls while quitting smoking. It's easy to get sidetracked. PQ helps keep you committed. It's tough to stay quit, but if you're committed to not smoking and have a support system like PQ, you can do it. PQ is the safety net. I'm so glad I'm not smoking. It is a weight off my shoulders. Don't be afraid to call if you relapse. Just get back in the program like I did."

Liz, IATSE
Quit Day: December 10, 2003
Phone Counseling

Liz remembers how scared she was of quitting smoking. "Phone counseling was fantastic... along with the patch and the concept of having support tools... it all gave me a lot of peace of mind."

Dana & Zadelle, IATSE
Quit Day: June 22, 2006
Individual Counseling

Dana & Zadelle have been married 30 years. Dana smoked 2 packs a day and nobody ever expected him to quit.  Zadelle smoked a pack a day. "It wasn't as difficult as we had anticipated. It really helps to quit together. Each week, we both went in to meet with our counselor. We gave each other the support we needed. If a tough situation came up, we would tell ourselves that smoking was not an option. The whole program is amazing and we would recommend it to anyone."

Joe, retired Motion Picture Camera Operator
Quit Day: August 1, 2005
Individual Counseling

Since Joe quit smoking two packs a day, he has recommended the program to several co-workers. His buddies are saying, "If Joe can do it, anybody can do it."
